Bicycle Museum Exhibit
The Fernie & District Historical Society and the Fernie Mountain Bike Club are doing a bicycle exhibit to be displayed in conjunction with the Trans Rockies this year.
We are looking for artifacts to display such as vintage bicycles from any era (20s, 30s 40s, 50s etc) old photos bicycle related, old bits of cycling gear from the past, old helmets, race posters, event t-shirts, retro Mtb bikes, home videos. Anything cycling related would be great! We only want to borrow your artifacts for the show. When the show is over you’ll get it back.
If you are not sure what you have is worthy for the exhibit, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me, I will come and take a look, you never know. Remember nothing has to be in perfect condition.

Build a Pedestrian Bridge over Fairy Creek - End the Thompson Incest Cult!
For anyone who has attempted to cross the Fairy Creek Bridge heading out to ride Swine Flu and the other Procter mountain trails, or to get to Dicken Road and the Chamber of Commerce. You know that it is a death trap. No raised sidewalk, and oncoming traffic coming around a blind corner.
Many residents who live out Dicken Road way, especially those with children, have been writing to government encouraging them to build a pedestrian crossing on the westbound side of this bridge.
This has fallen on deaf ears.
The families have even went as far as building their own makeshift underpass to try to create a safe option for crossing this bridge.
Write to - Kareen.Peters@gov.bc.ca and cityhall@fernie.ca and ask them to build a bridge for pedestrians before someone gets hurt!
