Official Rules

ELIGIBILITY The 2010 Trashy but Flashy Fashion Show is open to all BC residents of all ages, who meet the eligibility criteria as stated in these official rules.

HOW TO ENTER Applicants are invited to create wearable artwork using recycled, reused or found materials that otherwise would be thrown away or recycled. Paint, glue, thread, etc. are permitted but do not count towards either new or reused materials used in piece. Pieces must be durable for wear in rehearsals and in fashion show. Vintage clothes will not be accepted.

RULES OF SUBMISSION Submissions must be original, must be the work of the submitting Applicant. Any Application, which in coordinator’s sole judgment, contains content which is not suitable for display will not be considered. Artists application form and sketch must be included in submission and arrive before the registration deadline- April 20th, 4pm @ the Fernie Arts Station or by email at info@beyondrecycling.ca. To access the reduced $20 rate you must register on or before April 15th, 2010.

FASHION SHOW All Artists will be responsible for supplying a model, be it themselves, or a friend for the Flashy but Trashy Fashion Show Contest on April 22nd. All models must participate in fashion show rehearsal prior to event.

JUDGING Pieces in show will be judged by a panel of judges, of which will be selected by Flashy but Trashy Fashion Show Contest coordinators. Pieces will be judged based on amount of recycled material used, unique use of materials, creativity, and craftsmanship.

PRIZES Cash prizes will be awarded as designated by judges. Prize money will be awarded in the form of a check. Only one prize per designer.
